The CFI Integrative Education Diploma
The CFI Integrative Education qualifications encourage students' curiosity, revealing the
interconnectedness between subject areas that have traditionally been taught
separately, fostering genuine knowledge attainment and retention. It also develops
students’ analytical and evaluation skills, nurturing their critical thinking ability.
The keystone of the IE programme is the Independent Project module where students
are supported to follow their passion and explore an interest or career aspiration in
depth. Underpinned by modules in Critical Thinking and Personal and Social Learning,
the individual project develops skills in independent and self-directed learning.
Students will also cover a range of modules including Global Awareness
(History/Geography), Art, Craft and Design, Performance Arts, Natural Sciences,
Language and Literature. These are taught through a programme of interdisciplinary
topics in which work is assessed via written assignments, self-reflective and learning
journals, artefacts, presentations, and performances.
The IE Level 2 qualifications are Ofqual registered, equivalent to GCSEs and equip
students with a range of relevant skills which allows them to access higher education,
employment, and entrepreneurship. The students are prepared to enter the 21st-century
world with enthusiasm, competence, and kindness. They prepare detailed and high-
level portfolios for their IE qualification – giving them the opportunity to deeply explore a
subject, not just cram it for exams.
